RALEIGH, NC--July 18, 2011: Coulomb Technologies and leading European electric vehicle (EV) charging station manufacturer, Alfen today announced that Alfen’s ICU Twin public charging station is the latest to be compatible with Coulomb’s ChargePoint® Network. The announcement brings significant advantages to Alfen’s customers, giving them access to Coulomb’s family of cloud-based solutions for managing EV charging operations. Alfen’s customers also become a part of the largest global EV network supporting the greatest number of station owners and EV drivers in the world. The ChargePoint Network provides station owners with cloud-based service plans that handle all driver billing and support, and give them the control and flexibility needed for successful charging operations.

“Alfen joins the more than 700 customers whose stations are part of ChargePoint Network, the largest and longest running global network supporting charging station owners and their drivers in the world.”

Alfen is Coulomb’s newest ChargePoint On-Ramp Program partner. A demonstration of the solution integration will be shown at the Plug-In 2011 conference and exhibition in the Coulomb Technologies booth #121, July 18 --20 in Raleigh, NC.

“Customers buying Alfen charging stations will be able to access all of the deployment proven functionalities of the ChargePoint Network service plans,” said Pat Romano, president and CEO at Coulomb Technologies. “Alfen joins the more than 700 customers whose stations are part of ChargePoint Network, the largest and longest running global network supporting charging station owners and their drivers in the world.”

“Alfen has become one of the most important producers of electric charging stations with a network of more than 500 charging station locations in the Netherlands,” said Elbert Lievense, Business Manager, ICU at Alfen. “When wide-spread adoption of electric vehicles is realized, the impact of the grid will be enormous, and intelligence will be needed for this new challenge. It is this combined technology that strengthens Alfen’s position in developing and producing EV charging points. The combination of Alfen charging stations with Coulomb’s cloud services forms the most comprehensive solution for EV charging services. This partnership enables not only the most complete management system for EV charging services and fleet owners but also grid owners.”
