FYI: Chevrolet Buyer's Guide

DURHAM, NC--Aug. 1, 2011:

WHAT:

As a lead-up to this year's annual convention of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ), which will take place in Philadelphia, members of the Chevrolet team and journalists from Chicago and Atlanta will travel to the convention and engage in community service projects along the way.

On August 1, the NABJ members will join Chevrolet at Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, located in Raleigh, NC, to participate in a service project packing healthy, nutritious grocery bags for senior citizens and low-income families and then delivering them to the community. "We are excited to partner with Triangle Association of Black Journalists and Chevrolet as they road trip throughout the Southeast performing acts of kindness," said Melissa Hartzell, Communications Director of Inter-Faith Food Shuttle. "It is refreshing to work with folks who give back by literally DRIVING hunger from our community."

The project is part of Inter-Faith Food Shuttle's' ongoing mission pioneering innovative, transformative solutions designed to end hunger in our community. Inter-Faith Food Shuttle is a member of Feeding America and for more than 22 years been serving the greater Triangle alleviating the growing problem of hunger.

This year's road trip titled, The Road to NABJ: Powered by Chevrolet, will kick off in Chicago and Atlanta on Sunday, July 31 and culminate in Philadelphia on Tuesday, August 2. Chevrolet volunteers will engage in community service projects that align with the theme of the NABJ convention, "The Power of Now: Claiming Your Destiny." As part of the experience, the two teams will be asked to document their experiences on video and engage in "scavenger hunts" along the way.
