ATLANTA--Ausugst 15, 2011: Hughes Telematics, Inc. (HTI), a leader in providing next generation connected solutions, and AAA Club Partners (ACP), a holding company comprised of 10 American Automobile Association (AAA) Clubs with a combined membership of nearly 12 million AAA members in 20 states, announced today that they have entered into an agreement to offer connected services, extending the AAA brand into the vehicle. HTI and ACP will partner and develop, test, market and launch a tailored telematics solution utilizing HTI's self-installed In-DriveŽ aftermarket technology.

“We are excited about the opportunity to partner with Hughes Telematics”

"We are excited about the opportunity to partner with Hughes Telematics," said Jim Pouliot, CEO, AAA Club Partners. "ACP has a tradition of providing safety, security and peace of mind to its members. Partnering with HTI will strengthen the benefits we already provide to our members. This aftermarket solution will leverage the strengths and experience of both companies to provide a truly unique consumer offering."

The program will be designed so that members, using a simple self-installed In-Drive device, will have access to a comprehensive set of connected vehicle services. The device offers two-way voice connectivity to support emergency services, enhanced AAA roadside assistance and hands-free calling. In-Drive will provide additional features such as vehicle diagnostics with real-time alerts, carbon footprint, location and speed alerts, and stolen vehicle location assistance.

"We see tremendous value in this partnership as we are able to leverage our innovative solutions and collaborate to help build AAA Club Partners' vision of a robust connected vehicle service offering," said Erik Goldman, President, Hughes Telematics, Inc. "We are excited about the opportunities this partnership can bring to our companies as well as to AAA members that belong to ACP clubs."

The aftermarket telematics solution is expected to commence with a launch in the second quarter of 2012. Details about the program and service offerings will be made available closer to the launch.
