AAA to Make New Mobile Electric Vehicle Charging Trucks Available for Ride-Alongs and Demos with Industry Experts in Three-Hour Media Opportunity

What: AAA, the nation's largest motor club, recently unveiled its Mobile Electric Vehicle Charging trucks that provide charges to electric vehicles with depleted batteries on the roadside.

North America's first EV roadside assistance truck that soon will be deployed will be demonstrated at a three-hour media availability with one-on-one ride-alongs in Los Angeles. AAA national experts and local Automobile Club of Southern California spokespersons also will be available for interviews.

AAA Mobile Electric Vehicle Charging will initially be deployed as part of a pilot program in six markets that include Los Angeles

Last month, AAA unveiled the first roadside assistance vehicle in North America that will be deployed to assist electric vehicles with depleted batteries. The AAA Mobile Electric Vehicle Charging truck pilot program also includes the San Francisco Bay area, Seattle, Portland (Ore.), the Tampa Bay area and Knoxville. The deployment will begin late this summer and will continue into fall with additional markets expected to be added.

AAA Mobile Electric Vehicle Charging can provide Level 2 and Level 3 charging to depleted electric vehicles on the roadside. The AAA Mobile Electric Vehicle Charging Roadside Assistance truck available for ride-alongs and demonstrations is powered by Huntington Beach, Calif.-based Green Charge Networks. It features a removable lithium-ion battery pack for mobile charging. Other vehicles in the pilot program will be equipped with compressed national gas generators and power-take-off generators.
