Chrysler Academy Pros to Educate Drivers About Vehicle Upkeep at Walter P. Chrysler Museum Program

Sending a new driver out on the road? Trying to master the functions and features of a brand new vehicle? Get prepared to hit the road with Maintaining Today’s Cars, a workshop of the Walter P. Chrysler Museum in Auburn Hills, Mich. slated for 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24.

Led by the Chrysler Academy School of Technical Training, Maintaining Today’s Cars will feature key components inside vehicles as well as under the hood and under the car. Chrysler Academy staff – the same professionals who lead the automaker’s national dealership training programs – will explain and illustrate vehicle maintenance tips and schedules that will help drivers keep vehicles in good working condition and avoid getting stranded.

Maintaining Today’s Cars will emphasize: · changing tires and starting vehicles · servicing various fluids and filters · navigating dashboard gauges · what various warning lights indicate · handling roadside emergencies and more.

Tips and techniques presented in the program’s first half will be demonstrated at hands on vehicle stations in the second half.

Admission for Maintaining Today’s Cars – including refreshments – is $10 per person in advance and $12 at the door, with reduced admission of $8 and $10, respectively, for Museum members. Located on the Chrysler Group LLC complex in Auburn Hills, at exit 78 (Chrysler Dr.) off I-75, the Museum is available for corporate and private meetings and events and offers a K-12 education program as well as membership and volunteer opportunities. Families can enjoy Kids’ Corner, with regular Museum admission, an area for pre-school – elementary school-age children to enjoy automotive-inspired puzzles, games, projects, books and coloring activities.

The Walter P. Chrysler Museum is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) public charity and operates independently of Chrysler Group LLC. Donations are tax-deductible.
