alcoa

--Alcoa :

WHAT: The Can Crusade, stressing the importance of recycling aluminum cans, is passing through the heart of Steelers Nation and making a stop at the Alcoa Corporate Center on the North Shore. Joe Cahn, self-proclaimed Commissioner of Tailgating, will participate in an Alcoa employee pep rally as part of his nationwide awareness campaign to remind people that using aluminum cans when tailgating is the smartest choice.

WHEN:

Friday, October 7 between 12 noon and 1 p.m.

WHERE:

Front of Alcoa Corporate Center
201 Isabella St.
Pittsburgh, PA 15212
In case of rain, pep rally will be held in the lobby of the Alcoa Corporate Center.

WHO:

Joe Cahn, (aka The Commish), Commissioner of Tailgating

Pennsylvania Resources Council's "Let's Tackle Recycling" Team, and Alcoa Pittsburgh Employees

WHY: Traveling in his RV, Cahn brings to tailgate parties around the country beverages, food and, most importantly, the message that aluminum cans are the smart container for pre-game parties. The former owner of the New Orleans School of Cooking, Cahn will prepare and serve his fabled jambalaya for Alcoa employees and place the first recycled can on the aluminum can holiday tree (being created by Alcoa employees as part of the Company's Month of Service volunteer activities.) The tree will be displayed at the Carnegie Science Center this holiday season.

Joining Cahn at the Alcoa pep rally will be representatives of Pennsylvania Resources Council to showcase "Let's Tackle Recycling." This Alcoa Foundation-sponsored program has significantly increased the rate of recycling at Heinz Field by giving recycling bags to football fans as they enter the parking lots. You've heard of "cornhole?" These recycling advocates have the world's largest version of "Can-hole" you'll ever play, making it fun to toss your recyclables where they'll have a second life.

This is Cahn's sixteenth year as the premier tailgating authority. He has visited every NFL stadium, been to more than 125 college stadiums, tailgated at nine NASCAR tracks, and mingled with millions of fans. Look for Cahn tailgating before the Steelers-Titans game this Sunday, October 9, at 1 p.m. EDT.
