CHICAGO--Oct. 7, 2011: LKQ Corporation is giving a group of 150 Girl Scouts the unique opportunity to learn more about the automotive industry. LKQ joins the Women's Industry Network in sponsoring an event called Tools for Success which will take place on October 8 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the International Autobody Congress and Exposition (NACE) meeting in Orlando. The event will be open to the media and reporters are encouraged to attend.

The Girl Scouts will tour booths at NACE before attending a luncheon designed for them during which they can put questions to a panel of speakers that include some of the auto industry's leading women.  LKQ Vice President of Government Affairs Eileen A. Sottile, herself a former Girl Scout, will moderate the discussion.

"It's important for these young girls to see that there are truly exceptional opportunities open to women in the automotive business," said Sottile.  "Sitting in the audience may be a future female executive who otherwise never would have even considered a career in this industry."

LKQ Corporation CEO Rob Wagman said that he felt it was important for LKQ to sponsor this event.  "LKQ is a company that celebrates diversity and looks to create outstanding opportunities for all of its employees," said Wagman. "I am extremely proud of the hardworking women and men from all walks of life who every day bring unique perspectives and new ideas to LKQ that make our company better."
