BRISTOL, TN--November 18, 2011: Sunoco announced today that Mr. Roger Brooks of Bristol, Tenn. is the winner of its 2011 Free Fuel 5000 promotion. As this year's grand prize recipient, Mr. Brooks won 5,000 gallons of high-quality Sunoco gasoline, enough fuel to keep him driving for eight years.

“You never think you can win a contest like this, but I did. I live in Bristol and fill up and drive by it all of the time. I"m sure glad that I needed gas that day.”

As the official fuel of NASCAR, Sunoco's Free Fuel 5000 promotion offered millions of Sunoco customers a decal identical to the ones on every racecar in NASCAR's three top series. Throughout the promotion, Sunoco spotters looked for the decal on cars at more than 4,300 stations in 21 states. Over the course of the three month event, 9,445 Sunoco customers instantly collected a $10 gift card and earned a chance to win the grand prize of 5,000 gallons of Sunoco fuel.

On July 25, at a local Sunoco fueling station on Pennsylvania Avenue in Bristol, Tenn., Mr. Brooks was spotted with a Sunoco decal on his burgundy colored van as he stopped for fuel with his son, earning him a Sunoco gift card and ultimately the grand prize.

"Winning the instant $10 Sunoco gas card was great," said Free Fuel 5000 contest winner Roger Brooks. "You never think you can win a contest like this, but I did. I live in Bristol and fill up and drive by it all of the time. I"m sure glad that I needed gas that day."

From June through August, drivers sporting the Sunoco decal on their car had a chance to get spotted. Those spotted drivers won a Sunoco gas card instantly, and were entered into the grand prize drawing for 5,000 gallons of Sunoco gasoline. In a car that gets at least 20 miles per gallon, that"s enough gasoline to travel 100,000 miles.

"Every year we continue to see the excitement grow, not only from our customers, but also from our retailers," said Drew Kabakoff, Sunoco brand manager. "This sweepstakes engages customers, supports our retail partners, and promotes our relationship with NASCAR at the street level."

Sunoco is a leading transportation fuel provider with operations located primarily in the East Coast and Midwest regions of the United States.
