National Safety Council Accepting Submissions for 2012 Robert W. Campbell Award

ITASCA, IL--November 29, 2011: The National Safety Council is inviting organizations from around the globe to apply for safety's highest honor -- the 2012 Robert W. Campbell Award. The Campbell Award is presented annually to an organization that integrates environmental, health and safety management into the very core of its business operations. Integrating safety into business operations results in sustained operational excellence. It also is critical to an organization's triple bottom line -- people, planet and profit. Companies that demonstrate EHS and business excellence are eligible to share their approach by applying for this international honor.

Applications are now being accepted for the 2012 award. Organizations can take a 10-question quiz at Cambell Award Ready to determine whether they are ready to apply for the Campbell Award and where they are on their safety journey. More information can be found at Cambell Award along with application criteria. Final submittals must be postmarked by May 31, 2012.

Applicants undergo a rigorous review process conducted by an international panel of experts in academia, government, labor and management, who provide each applicant with feedback. Simply applying for the award provides applicants with valuable insight to refine continuous improvement efforts.

The Campbell Award is named for Robert W. Campbell, an early safety advocate and first president of NSC. The award is sponsored by NSC and underwritten by ExxonMobil Foundation.
