Global supplier's exhibit focuses on enhancing and simplifying the driving experience

LAS VEGAS--Jan. 6, 2012: Visteon Corporation , a leading global automotive supplier, will display a range of automotive electronics innovations at the 2012 International CES -- the world's largest consumer technology trade show -- in Las Vegas from Jan. 10-13.

Visteon will showcase products and innovations born from in-depth research focusing on consumer perceptions of the ideal vehicle electronics experience -- personal, simple, engaging, accessible and non-distracting. An array of vehicle cockpit electronics solutions -- covering audio, infotainment, connectivity, driver information, displays and control panels -- will be featured in a variety of interactive displays at Visteon's exhibit (CP20) in the Central Plaza of the Las Vegas Convention Center.

A highlight of Visteon's exhibit will be a "consumer experience" section showing how Visteon leverages its market and consumer insight to develop concepts that explore future consumer-relevant features to improve the driving experience. Among the concepts featured will be a digital radio geared for the India market, vehicle diagnostics applications, a "connected cockpit," wireless charging, and products with various levels of sophistication in human-machine interaction (HMI).

"Our electronics development efforts are focused on helping vehicle manufacturers improve the driving experience -- making it easier, more convenient and more enjoyable for consumers to stay connected to their vehicles and the outside world," said Steve Meszaros, Visteon product group president. "With consumers becoming more technology-savvy, and with consumer electronics evolving so rapidly, we provide automakers with flexible solutions that allow for quick and easy feature upgrades as technology evolves."

As visitors to Visteon's exhibit will discover, the company does not apply "technology for technology's sake," Meszaros noted. Visteon is focused on integrating consumer and automotive electronics based on market needs identified through extensive consumer research in mature and emerging markets, including North America, South America, Europe, China and India. "This allows us to design solutions for automakers that take into account regional preferences and factors such as consumers' comfort level with mobile electronics, how they perceive quality, and the level and type of functionality they desire."

Visteon's global electronics portfolio includes integrated electronics solutions, driver information and center stack electronics, and audio and infotainment. At Visteon's exhibit, visitors will be able to experience technologies including:

  • Driver information solutions, including low-cost, mid-range and premium platforms that deliver critical driver information while appealing to the increasing sophistication expected by some consumers. Also on display will be multi-function center display platforms, and instrument cluster concepts combining Visteon's strength in craftsmanship, design, HMI and intelligent thin film transistor (TFT) display integration.
  • Audio and infotainment, showcasing global platforms designed to meet the ever-increasing entertainment and information features desired by consumers. These include an array of digital audio and integrated digital audio, video decoding, and mid-range and premium infotainment platforms.
  • Vehicle cockpit integration concepts, featuring connectivity solutions such as Cloud computing, advanced haptic feedback controls, and other innovations that challenge traditional implementations and increase consumer appeal.
