A ceremony will be held at the Focus: HOPE center in Detroit on Tuesday, January 10 at 9:00 a.m., where members of Focus: HOPE will be joined by representatives from Hyundai Motor America and South Michigan Hyundai dealers for a celebration of HOPE, including the distribution of coats and a $10,000 donation to the Eleanor M. Josaitis Fund for Focus: HOPE.

Focus: HOPE is a nationally renowned civil and human rights community organization that serves the Southeast Michigan communities through its food, career training programs, and HOPE Village Initiative. Since the organization's founding 43 years ago, Focus: HOPE has operated under its mission to pledge intelligent and practical action to overcome racism, poverty and injustice.

"Our partnership with Hyundai is growing in ways that directly benefit people in our community," said William F. Jones, Jr., CEO of Focus: HOPE. "Over the last three years, Hyundai has donated 3,000 winter coats for children and adults in our community. When I see how grateful people are to get a warm coat, I am extremely thankful for partners like Hyundai that step up to fill a serious need in our community. In addition to its generous donation of coats, Hyundai also provides monetary support that keeps our programs in motion. This is partnership in every sense of the word. We look forward to working with Hyundai for many years to come."

In addition to its coat donation, Hyundai Motor America will give a donation to the Eleanor M. Josaitis Fund for Focus: HOPE, in honor of the late co-founder's life, her extraordinary commitment to justice, and the community development of Detroit and its youth, throughout her life.

"At the core of our Corporate Social Responsibility efforts at Hyundai lies our commitment to the youth in our communities," said Zafar Brooks, Director, Government Relations and Diversity Outreach, Hyundai Motor America. "We are honored to partner with Focus: HOPE and commend its longstanding commitment to address the needs of all young people, as well as those for people from all walks of life and socioeconomic statuses. We are inspired by the life's work of Father William Cunningham and Eleanor Josaitis to eliminate poverty and improve access to education for our youth."
