SAN DIEGO--February 17, 2012: Cricket Communications, a leading provider of innovative and value-driven wireless services, today announced a multi-city partnership with Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam, a thrilling, live motor sports tour showcasing the best in monster truck racing and freestyle contests for families.

As an expansion of an existing partnership created in 2010, Cricket customers in select cities will have the opportunity to get exclusive, up-close access to all the Monster Jam action by visiting their local Cricket Wireless stores. Monster Jam fans will have the opportunity to win discounted coupons, Cricket Family Four-Packs, and passes to the interactive Pit Party to meet the drivers and see the vehicles up close. Participating Cricket Wireless locations in 10 cities will be giving away 10 event tickets for each local Monster Jam competition. Cities that have already experienced the fun of Monster Jam include Denver, Kansas City, Phoenix, Portland, and San Diego. Remaining cities that will soon have Monster Trucks coming to their area include the following:

  • Albuquerque, N.M. (Feb. 17-19)
  • Spokane, Wash. (Feb. 17-19)
  • Salt Lake City, Utah (Feb. 24-25)
  • El Paso, Texas (March 3-4)
  • Fresno, Calif. (March 9-10)
  • Reno, Nev. (March 9-11)
  • Tucson, Ariz. (March 9-11)
  • Nampa, Idaho (March 16-17)
  • Las Vegas, Nev. (March 23-24)

Fans will also be able to see and touch their favorite monster trucks like "El Toro Loco", "Son Uva Digger", "Spider-Man" and others from the season at select Cricket locations before the events. Standing approximately 12 feet tall and about 12 feet wide, monster trucks are custom-designed machines that sit atop 66-inch-tall tires and weigh a minimum of 10,000 pounds. Built for short, high-powered bursts of speed, monster trucks generate 1,500 to 2,000 horsepower and are capable of speeds of up to 100 miles per hour. Monster trucks can fly up to 125 to 130 feet--a distance greater than 14 cars side by side--and up to 35 feet in the air. Lucky Cricket customers will get the full experience when they visit these powerful trucks in person at stores in select cities.

Families and fans will also be able to stop by the Cricket Wireless booth at local Monster Jam events for giveaways, prizes and information about some of the best deals on Cricket's exclusive smartphone offerings for Monster Jam attendees.
