Program Also Gives Up to $5,500 Each for Purchase of Five or More Vehicles by Fleet Operators

U.S.-Built MV-1 is the ONLY Vehicle Designed from the Ground Up to be Wheelchair-Accessible

MIAMI, Feb. 22, 2012 -- Today The Vehicle Production Group LLC (VPG) announced its forthcoming Cash for Conversion Clunkers incentive program, which will provide consumers a $3,500 allowance towards the purchase of a new MV-1, and up to $5,500 each towards the purchase of five or more MV-1 vehicles by fleet operators.

Union-made in Mishawaka, Indiana, the MV-1 is the only vehicle built from the ground up as a wheelchair-accessible vehicle. It features a fully-deployable side ramp, can accommodate up to six occupants -- including wheelchairs and motorized scooters -- and offers an environmentally-friendly compressed natural gas engine. The MV-1 also meets or exceeds vehicle guidelines under the Americans with Disabilities Act and does not require an exemption under the Federal Transit Administration's Buy America program.

"The MV-1 is the safest and most reliable wheelchair-accessible car on the road -- and now with our introductory Cash for Conversion Clunkers program, the MV-1 is more affordable than ever," said Fred Drasner, Chairman of the Vehicle Production Group. "This program will help improve the quality of life for members of the disabled community by providing them a factory-made mobility option."

Under the Cash for Conversion Clunkers program, consumers or fleet operators can trade in a used "conversion" vehicle --a standard vehicle that has been modified to accommodate wheelchair passengers -- and the dealer receives the appropriate allowance from VPG to be applied toward that customer's purchase of a new MV-1.

The Cash for Conversion Clunkers program begins on March 1, 2012 and ends on May 31, 2012 and will be in affect at all VPG dealerships nationwide. Visit VPG Autos for complete information on the program and for a complete list of VPG dealers.
