Overcharging a battery can cause overheating and have other serious and detrimental effects on a car battery -- even leading to the expense and inconvenience of complete battery failure.
However, one way to ensure that a battery is never overcharged and also keep it maintained in optimum condition is to invest in a smart battery charger which can recognise when a battery has reached optimum charge levels and stop charging to avoid any problems.
