MILTON KEYNES, UNITED KINGDOM – May 29, 2012: Volkswagen has launched a new Small Business Leasing programme, aimed at opening up new fleet opportunities for Volkswagen Retailers, and enabling them to serve better the needs of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in their local areas.

It’s estimated that around one million SMEs exist across the UK and run company vehicles. Even if an organisation only has a handful of cars, it’s important that they are funded and managed correctly in order to ensure spend remains within budget and administration at a manageable level. And of course these SMEs are a great opportunity for manufacturers: by applying local knowledge and good business skills, they can add value to an organisation which is not experienced in running vehicles.

To this end a new dedicated Small Business Leasing Contact Centre was set up last month which has already dealt with over 345 enquiries and new vehicle quotations. One Retailer who has seen multiple success is Tony Burns from Dane Wirral Volkswagen. By seizing the initiative and prospecting local business he has already sold two vehicles via the scheme: a Scirocco and a new CC.

All small business needs and drivers’ lifestyles are catered for through the Small Business Leasing programme, with vehicles available from every sector including the multi-award winning up! through the best-selling Golf, the Beetle, Tiguan, Scirocco and CC plus the ever-popular Passat saloon and Estate ranges, right up to the Touareg. Within this range a large number of fuel-efficient BlueMotion Technology derivatives are also on offer, giving enhanced fuel economy, lower emissions and lower company car tax bills.

Although quotes can be generated and details logged on the dedicated Small Business Leasing area on www.volkswagen.co.uk, it’s the human touch that makes the difference. Tony attributes the success to a face-to-face meeting with customers to finalise the deals, once again reinforcing the importance of being local to the customers’ premises.
