WESTCHESTER, IL--June 4, 2012: Insurance Auto Auctions, Inc. (IAA), the leading live and live-online salvage auto auction company and wholly-owned subsidiary of KAR Auction Services, Inc. , is proud to announce support for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation's (ALSF) 9th Annual National Lemonade Days. In June, IAA plans to sell lemonade at 142 of its 160 North American branches, from coast-to-coast, as well as its Chicago-based headquarters to help generate $100,000 for research into new treatments and cures for childhood cancer.

“We are thrilled to have the support of IAA in the battle against childhood cancer”

National Lemonade Days returns annually each June in an effort to raise $1 million for childhood cancer research over the course of three days. With the support of over 1,800 IAA employees, the company hopes to raise much needed funds by selling lemonade onsite during auction sale days. Additionally, each IAA branch location has a fundraising page on the ALSF website for generating funds. Each site will be active from May 15 through June 22 where the public can offer their financial support and donate online. IAA partnered with Alex's Lemonade Stand last year as well, where five branches raised $10,000.

"We are thrilled to have the support of IAA in the battle against childhood cancer," said Liz Scott, Alex's mom and Co-Executive Director of ALSF. "By enlisting the support of their employees, vehicle providers, friends, neighbors and relatives, IAA is helping to continue the mission of our daughter, allowing us to take strides toward finding a cure for all kids with cancer."

On select dates, families affected by childhood cancer will be present at a number of the lemonade stands set up at IAA auction facilities across the nation to help support IAA's fund generation efforts.

"It has always been IAA's mission to give back to the communities in which we live and work," said Tom O'Brien, chief executive officer at Insurance Auto Auctions. "We are honored to partner with Alex's Lemonade Stand for the second year in a row on this important fundraising initiative to help raise awareness and critical funds for childhood cancer causes. Our employees are energized and excited to have the opportunity to give back to their communities in a meaningful way."

About Alex's Lemonade Stand

Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra "Alex" Scott (1996-2004). In 2000, 4-year-old Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Since Alex held that first stand, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a national fundraising movement, complete with thousands of supporters across the country carrying on her legacy of hope. To date, Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, a registered 501(c)3 charity, has raised more than $50 million toward fulfilling Alex's dream of finding a cure, funding over 200 pediatric cancer research projects nationally.
