TALLAHASSEE, FL--Oct. 2, 2012: Auto Data Direct, Inc. (ADD) today announced that more than 1,000 independent California automobile dealers are using its simple and affordable web-based system to comply with a new law.  As of July 1, 2012, all California dealers who sell used cars are required to obtain a National Motor Vehicle Title Information System (NMVTIS) vehicle history report for every used car on their lot, and post a red warning label on the vehicle if a title brand or salvage history is found.

"In the last 120 days, California dealers have pulled more than 100,000 NMVTIS reports through our system," said Jim Taylor, ADD's President.  "In addition to the 1,000 individual dealer sign-ups, thousands more dealers have access to our reports through one of the ten dealer management software companies we have partnered with to provide a seamless solution for this new requirement."

The NMVTIS database is a U.S. Department of Justice information system that contains automobile information from states DMVs, insurance carriers and the salvage industry.  Auto Data Direct, Inc., (ADD) offers a variety of business solutions for California auto dealers, and dealers nationwide, to easily access NMVTIS vehicle history reports.  "While the new California law is aimed at protecting consumers from purchasing less than desirable vehicles without full disclosure, pulling a vehicle history from NMVTIS is a smart thing to do for all dealers -- not just those in California," said Taylor.

In addition to the standard NMVTIS vehicle history reports, ADD offers a Spanish-English version to better serve the bilingual dealer community.  Dealers benefit from a Pay-Per-Pull option allowing for reports to be retrieved one at a time, or batch processing which accepts multiple VINs for initial inventory reports or high volume users.

Another unique NMVTIS vehicle history report service offered by ADD is the StiQR sales tool.  An innovative lead generation tool, the ADD StiQR uses QR code technology to deliver NMVTIS vehicle history reports to a consumer's smart phone via a scannable window sticker.  ADD StiQRs integrate NMVTIS histories, dealer marketing, vehicle information, photos, video, web and social media into a mobile-friendly sales tool.
