NEW YORK--Nov. 9, 2012: If your car spent last week under water, you can kiss its carpool days goodbye but it can still help drive life-saving efforts for families affected by kidney disease. Water damage won't affect vehicle donation to the National Kidney Foundation's Kidney Cars Program. Funds raised through Kidney Cars, the nation's oldest and most trusted vehicle donation program, will help support public education, patient services and early detection.

The donation process is a lot simpler than pumping out a basement or relocating a family of six and you might actually be left with something more valuable than a sidewalk full of trash bags-- a tax deduction. All you need to do is visit Kidney Cars or call 1-800-488-CARS (2277) and the National Kidney Foundation will send out a packet, complete with a self-addressed envelope in which to mail back the signed title and odometer statement. Once the completed packet is received, the Foundation will contact donors to arrange for a free pick-up. Vehicles may be sold for parts.
