The Transportation Industry's Leader in Green Innovation Taps ECO ULTRA for Performance Reliability and Infinite Recyclability

WICHITA, KS--Nov. 12, 2012: Universal Lubricants®, a manufacturer and distributor of premium lubricants, announced today that Total Transit is now using the ECO ULTRA® line of motor oil in its fleet of cabs. The Glendale, AZ-based transportation company offers a wide array of services throughout Arizona and the Southwest. As part of a larger service offering, Total Transit operates Discount Cab, one of the largest cab companies in the region with a fleet numbering nearly 800, including the largest fleet of hybrid Toyota Prius taxis in North America.

Total Transit prides itself on a commitment to sustainability, at every level of business decision-making. From the fleet of Prius cabs to solar panels installed at the Corporate Headquarters, Total Transit is a leader in the transportation industry with green innovation. Its partnership with Universal Lubricants is a natural fit.

"There's nothing we value more at Total Transit than safety, sustainability and providing superior service to our customers," said Paul Kiszczak, West Valley Fleet Maintenance Manager for Total Transit. "Blending all three qualities in equal measure, ECO ULTRA was the right choice for Total Transit's needs. Specifically, the outstanding, reliable performance coupled with the environmental advantages associated with using lubricants made from re-refined base oil marks ECO ULTRA a win for our customers and, as such, a win for Total Transit."

The U.S. produces approximately 1.1 billion gallons of used motor oil every year. Approximately 880 million gallons are recovered for re-use, the remainder is unaccounted for, likely disposed of improperly, damaging the environment. The majority of what is recovered is burned as an industrial fuel, leaving approximately 220 million gallons available for re-refining.

Through its Closed Loop Process Universal Lubricants collects, re-refines, blends, packages and redistributes its own oil, including the ECO ULTRA line--without ever losing guardianship within the chain--in an infinitely repeatable, sustainable cycle. Universal Lubricants' re-refining process uses up to 89 percent less energy than refining crude oil to produce lubricant products.

ECO ULTRA is an American Petroleum Institute (API) licensed line of automotive and industrial lubricants that rely on used oil as feedstock to produce top quality re-refined base oil, then blended with state-of-the-art additives for high performance. ECO ULTRA meets all Original Equipment Manufacturers' (OEM) specifications and Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) requirements. Now, it's the motor oil of choice for Total Transit.

"Sustainability interests sit at the forefront of companies' managerial considerations," said John Wesley, Universal Lubricants' chief executive officer. "But with ECO ULTRA, customers don't have to sacrifice performance in the name of environmental protection. We are proud that our products offer the best of both worlds."
