EVANSVILLE, IN--March 18, 2013: Evana Automation Specialists, a subsidiary of Phillips Service Industries (PSI) and leading Systems Integrator and builder of custom, automated assembly and test systems, recently delivered two lean workstations that assemble, grease, mark and test input pinion assemblies for a Tier 1 automotive supplier of commercial steering components.

The first station assembles an input pinion to a T-bar, which involves pressing a bushing into the pinion, installing an O-ring, greasing the O-ring and assembling the pinion into the T-bar. The second station uses a deflection test to verify that the bushing is present, pin stamp information to the assembly and debur a hole in the assembly. Both stations offer complete traceability of the parts, including verification that the correct tooling and components are being utilized throughout the process.

"Evana was delighted to improve efficiency and implement quality control measurements for this repeat customer," said Randy Wire, General Manager of Evana Automation Specialists. "Our solutions help manufacturers all over the world, in a wide range of industries, achieve the highest levels of efficiency for their production projects."

Evana utilizes diverse technologies to specialize in motion control, robotics integration and system architecture by linking production equipment, material handling systems, data collection, networking, as well as computer software and hardware into flexible, unified technology.
