Irwindale, Calif. (March 25, 2013) The notes, e-messages, and calls from the fans have been many and friendly: "We've really missed you!", "Welcome back NASCAR at Irwindale!", "...Whole family can't wait for April 6 ... We'll all be there!"

On January 4, 2013, after a year when there was no NASCAR Home Track racing at Irwindale Speedway, the new on site management team announced that short track stock car racing would return to Southern California, and to the track that has the reputation for producing some of the most competitive, three-wide plus, exciting oval track racing on the planet.

Opening night 2013, the first of fourteen nights of renewed NASCAR Whelen All-American action, is set for April 6 with a full card of racing divisions and a fireworks show thrown in just for good measure (and to celebrate the re-opening).

First night fans will find a great line up of NASCAR divisions: Super Late Models, Late Models, Super Stocks, and Mini Stocks will all go on the oval tracks; and a wild and wacky Demolition Derby will close out the night.

Veteran drivers and rookies alike will all be on hand at Irwindale Speedway that night ready to race on the track that has seen hundreds of champions run thousands of laps over the years.

On April 6, fan gates will open at 5pm and the very popular On-Track Autograph Session will start at 5:45. For fan/attendees that've never been to Irwindale, the track's signature On-Track Autograph Session is something that should not be missed. Every car, every driver, and key race team member takes their place on the track's front straight and a great "meet and greet" session takes place with autographs, photos, and a pre-race party attitude that really gets the scene set for the night's racing.

Tickets are now available for opening night and the 2013 season beyond on the track's website: www.irwindaleeventcenter.com.

And the good news is that ticket prices for a full night of NASCAR are only $15 for adults and youngsters 6-12 are $5 ... the same prices as when the Speedway opened in 1999. The best news of all is that Irwindale Speedway will host 15 nights of NASCAR from April through October. The track is back, and the fans know it!

SPECIAL PREVIEW DAY: Fans and their families are all invited to visit Irwindale Speedway on Saturday, March 30 from 11am to 4pm to watch the final open practice session before opening night ... The opportunity there to meet some drivers, get a look at the new team colors, and just get revved up for the new season. Admission and parking are both free on March 30 and the trackside pit snack bar will be open for food and refreshments.
