SOUTHFIELD, MI--April 11, 2013: AIAG, the not-for-profit, member-supported organization that helps automotive companies operate at peak performance, announced today it is collaborating with the Georgia Automotive Manufacturers Association (GAMA) to help the Georgia automotive manufacturing industry provide training to the workforce, increase quality and improve costs. The partnership gives GAMA member companies a complimentary one-year membership in AIAG to provide easier access to tools and education for continual improvement in their businesses.

"The Georgia automotive supply chain is a key cog in the expansion of the industry's manufacturing footprint in the southern United States," said J. Scot Sharland, executive director of AIAG. "Extending AIAG membership benefits to GAMA-member companies ensures that they have access to the 'know-how' and 'know-who' they will need to be successful."

"We are dedicated to growing and improving automotive manufacturing in Georgia, and AIAG will help our companies expand their role in the global automotive market with free access and significant discounts to valuable information, education, tools and unique service offerings," said Rick Walker, president and CEO of GAMA.

Now in its fourth decade, AIAG brings together large and small automotive companies to work collectively and collaboratively to improve industry standards, streamline processes and develop common business practices. With a membership in AIAG, companies can learn and adopt best practices and standards in the areas of corporate responsibility, supply chain management and quality. The value offered will help companies better meet a multinational corporation's performance expectations and serve the global market.

An AIAG membership includes:

  • A tool to calculate the cost of poor quality
