CHARLESTON, SC--May 6, 2013:  Behr America's Behr Heat Transfer Systems, Inc. based in Charleston has achieved "Gold Certification" in Caterpillar's Supplier Quality Excellence Program (SQEP).

Gold Certification recognizes Caterpillar suppliers that meet or exceed stringent performance standards, including product quality and shipping performance.  Behr currently manufactures exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) coolers for Caterpillar's Tier 4 emission-compliant engines.

"We continually strive to achieve the highest levels of customer satisfaction," said Tom Daffron, Behr's Charleston plant manager. "Caterpillar's Gold Certification is a clear indication of the world-class levels of product design and manufacturing being provided by our Charleston facility."

Representatives from Caterpillar recently visited Behr's Charleston facility to present a Gold Certification award plaque to the company's production and development teams and to celebrate the success of the company's current programs with Caterpillar.

Following the award ceremony, Caterpillar executives toured the Behr plant and reviewed the company's aluminum and stainless steel heat-exchange development and production programs.

Behr America's 350,000-square-foot facility in Charleston has approximately 375 employees and completes the entire process from design and development to manufacturing of engine cooling components and modules for commercial vehicles.
