INDIANAPOLIS May 26, 2013; Mouser Electronics, Inc., regarded as a top design engineering resource and global distributor for semiconductors and electronic components, congratulates Tony Kanaan, driver of the #11 IndyCar, for a history-making victory at the legendary Indianapolis 500.

The 12th time was the charm for Kanaan, who had earned second place at the Indy 500 in 2004 and third place finishes in 2012 and 2003. Kanaan now goes into the history books as one of the greatest and most popular drivers with a first-place victory in the Indy 500, the granddaddy of American car racing.

"I got a little bit of luck today," said Kanaan, who is extremely popular among his peers as well as fans. "It's for the fans. It's for my dad who's not here. But mainly for all of you guys. I was looking at the stands, and it was unbelievable. I want to thank everybody. I've never seen so many people from other teams (offering congratulations). This is it, man. I made it. I'm finally going to put my ugly face on that trophy," he joked.

It was the 16th career victory for Kanaan.

"Tony drove an absolutely amazing race," said Todd McAtee, Mouser Vice President of Business Development. "He has fought hard for this and all of us here at Mouser are excited that we are able to be a part of this incredible victory. And the season isn't over yet."

Mouser first sponsored IndyCar in 2011 as an innovative way to communicate its performance-driven business model and promote the newest technologies and how they affect the high-tech world of IndyCar racing. Since every advanced, sophisticated component that goes into an IndyCar is all about precision and gaining a performance edge out on the track, IndyCar provides the perfect vehicle to build top-of-mind awareness for Mouser and its industry-leading manufacturers.

Joining Mouser as this year’s valued sponsors are TTI, Sager, Amphenol, BIVAR, ebm-pabst, Fluke, Hammond Manufacturing, Harwin, LEMO, Molex, Murata, NKK Switches, Ohmite, and Phoenix Contact.

The 2013 IZOD IndyCar series features 19 races. The series travels to Mouser's backyard on June 8 for the Firestone 500 at Texas Motor Speedway. Kanaan finished 5th last year at TMS. For the latest updates on the 2013 season, visit http://www.mouser.com/indy/.
