J.D. Power will announce the results of its 2013 Initial Quality Study (IQS) at a press conference on Wednesday, June 19 at the Detroit Athletic Club.

Held in conjunction with the Automotive Press Association, the press conference will begin with registration at 11 a.m. ET, followed by lunch at 11:30 a.m. and the revealing of IQS results from noon to 1 p.m.  The 2013 IQS results are embargoed until 1 p.m. ET.

David Sargent, vice president of global vehicle research at J.D. Power, will present the IQS findings.

The Initial Quality Study, which serves as the auto industry benchmark for new-vehicle quality measured at 90 days of ownership, has been completely redesigned[1] for 2013 to measure the quality of the new technology that is increasingly being offered to consumers.  In addition, the study, now in its 27th year, moves from a paper-based mail-in survey to an online survey online, allowing for more specific and detailed feedback from new-vehicle owners.

The study will continue to highlight the three highest-ranked vehicles in each of the car and light-truck segments; the three highest ranked assembly plants in North/South America, Asia Pacific and Europe; and full nameplate rankings.
