Chevrolet Named Title Sponsor of MLB’s Home Run Derby

2014 Chevrolet Silverado awarded to MVP of Home Run Derby 70 Silverados to be part of All-Star Red Carpet Parade

DETROIT--June 19, 2013: Chevrolet, the “Official Vehicle of Major League Baseball” since 2005, is now swinging for the fences as title sponsor of the 2013 Chevrolet Home Run Derby. Major League Baseball Properties and Chevrolet announced the sponsorship on Monday.

The 2013 Chevrolet Home Run Derby will be held Monday, July 15, at Citi Field in New York, home of the New York Mets, and will be broadcast live on ESPN beginning at 8 p.m. EDT.

Since becoming the Official Vehicle of Major League Baseball in 2005, Chevrolet has actively in integrated MLB into its promotional efforts such as Chevrolet Youth Baseball and Diamonds & Dreams. This season in addition to the Chevrolet Home Run Derby, Chevrolet will again be the presenting sponsor of the All-Star Red Carpet Show, which will see the MLB All-Stars travel across New York City’s 42nd Street in Chevrolet’s new 2014 Chevrolet Silverado prior to the 2013 MLB All-Star Game on Tuesday, July 16.

Chevrolet will also have an expanded presence at MLB All-Star FanFest, sponsoring the popular Home Run Derby attraction. And on television, Chevrolet will be the presenting sponsor of the All-Star Game pre-game show on FOX, as well as the presenting sponsor of the All-Star Game MVP award.
