Introduced during the 2013 National Clean Energy Summit, the luxury vehicle fleet further establishes the company's leadership in environmental responsibility

LAS VEGAS--Aug. 13, 2013: MGM Resorts International unveiled the nation's first commercial fleet of compressed natural gas (CNG) fueled Cadillac Escalades during the National Clean Energy Summit at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino today. Uniquely converted by World CNG, a nationally recognized leader in alternative fuel technology, the six EPA-certified luxury vehicles will service ARIA Resort & Casino and Bellagio Resort & Casino.

"We are excited to introduce the nation's first commercial fleet of CNG Cadillac Escalades, which is further demonstration of our company's commitment to drive innovation in environmental stewardship, while maintaining the highest standards in guest service," said Jim Murren, Chairman & CEO of MGM Resorts International. "Environmental responsibility is a core component of our culture and we continuously seek new opportunities to make sustainable services available to our guests."

MGM Resorts International's fleet of CNG vehicles is one of many carbon reduction projects underway by the company as a part of the MGM Resorts Green Advantage platform. CNG is one of the cleanest burning alternative fuels available and is generally less expensive than either gasoline or diesel. U.S. Department of Energy research shows that compared to vehicles fueled with conventional diesel and gasoline, natural gas vehicles produce significantly lower amounts of harmful emissions as well as approximately 25 percent fewer greenhouse gas emissions.

"MGM Resorts International has established itself as a leader in environmental stewardship," said Garret Alpers, Chief Executive Officer of World CNG. "Fleet owners and operators have the unique opportunity to significantly reduce their fuel expenditure while reducing harmful emissions. We're honored to have provided these unique CNG conversions."

The new Cadillac Escalades will join a family of other CNG vehicles in MGM Resorts' transportation portfolio, including the company's 26 CNG stretch-limo fleet, another U.S. first.
