Segway Appoints Senior Executive Mark Vena As Chief Marketing Officer

BEDFORD, NH--Sept. 23, 2013: Today, Segway Inc. (Segway), the world's leading provider of electric personal transportation, announces it has named Mark Vena as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO).

Vena is a senior executive with extensive experience in high technology. Over the last 20 years, he has held key senior management and leadership roles at several of the world's leading personal computer manufacturers. Vena will oversee Segway's corporate marketing function to maximize the Company's brand awareness, technology innovation reputation and leading position in the market. He will specifically focus on:

Assuring continued robust innovation in personal transportation devices Designing and delivering new solutions that reflect Segway's global reputation for high quality and superior value Expanding Segway's worldwide network and driving growth in existing and new markets Executing comprehensive corporate communications campaigns

Prior to joining Segway, Vena was Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Human Interface Systems Division at Synaptics where he managed the market leading TouchPad business. He has also held executive roles at Epson, Compaq, Dell and Alienware. Vena holds a Bachelor's Degree in History from Boston College.
