STOUGHTON, WI--Sept. 30, 2013: Nelson Global Products, a manufacturer of fabricated high-performance vehicle exhaust and emissions equipment and systems, has entered a new phase of its rich history with the ribbon-cutting of a new headquarters campus including an extensive engineering and design center.

Nelson has established Stoughton its home base since its founding in 1939.

The ceremony -- attended by Stoughton Mayor Donna Olson, Stoughton Chamber of Commerce and city development officials, and other members of Nelson's executive management team – was hosted by Tom Gosnell, president and CEO of Nelson.

In operation since early this year, the new $3.75 million headquarters consists of a 25,000-sq. ft. office building which encompasses the 100 employees and key departments including product design and engineering, marketing, sales, accounting and administrative support staffs. In another area of Stoughton, the company also opened an extensive testing facility for product development and performance validation.

"While Nelson is and will be an international company, Stoughton with its rich family-based community will always be our home and at the core of our business values. All of us -- especially the 100 persons in this complex -- place high value and appreciation on the efforts of the city to help our company and our employees stay here," said Gosnell.

"We at Wind Point Partners are proud of the progress the team at Nelson has made to grow our customer base, improve our manufacturing efficiency and enhance our standing in the community," said David Stott, director at Wind Point Partners. Nelson is a portfolio company of Wind Point Partners, a private equity firm in Chicago.

"Lead by our teams of people, our new headquarters has the same opportunity to impress all our visitors, much like our sales force presents to customers...a positive and friendly experience prefaced by learning more about our deep capabilities of serving customers," Gosnell added.

Nelson's vice president of Business Integration, Sue Vanderbilt, said. "We've made so much forward progress in improving our products' and services' quality and effectiveness to our growing customer base. It's a proud moment for all our futures."

Vanderbilt and Todd Kane, director of facilities, were responsible for the daily management and liaison of the headquarters project.

The building's themed lobby distinctly features distinct experiential items:

1. Who We Are - complete with mission and vision as well as the company's rich history and legacy;

2. What We Do - detailing the different exhaust-tubing products engineered and manufactured; and

3. Who We Work For - listing the key global customers of commercial vehicles in the market segments served: On-Highway Trucks, Off-Highway Vehicles, Outdoor power vehicles and specialty vehicles, and the related Aftermarkets.

Another unique feature is a reception desk made of stainless steel tubes and perforated sheet metal panels, and an employee-made, highly-polished conference table made from native Wisconsin woods -- both demonstrating the employees' hearts and minds are always on the quality products.

Ground was broken for the campus in June 2012. Nelson partnered with Vogel Bros. Building Co. as its design/builder and Potter Lawson, Inc. for the facility design.
