Chrysler Group Donates More than $100,000 to Support Future Hispanic Business Leaders

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Oct. 14, 2013: Chrysler Group sponsors National Society of Hispanic MBAs' 24th Annual Conference and Career Expo The Chrysler Foundation donates $75,000 to support scholarship program Ram Truck brand donates $35,000 vehicle purchase certificate to support NSHMBA's mission

Chrysler Group LLC expanded its commitment to the Hispanic community and the development of future Hispanic business leaders by sponsoring the National Society of Hispanic MBAs' (NSHMBA) 24th Annual Conference and Career Expo October 10-12 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio.

The Chrysler Group's sponsorship of the annual event provides a unique opportunity for the company to identify, engage and recruit talented Hispanic business leaders of the future.

"An investment in education will provide one of the best returns possible for a corporation or individual," said Reid Bigland, Head of U.S. Sales and President and Chief Executive Officer - Ram Truck Brand, Chrysler Group LLC, who delivered a keynote address at the conference. "Organizations like NSHMBA are rich sources of talented future business leaders who can help fuel Chrysler Group's continued success."

As part of his keynote address, Bigland announced a pair of donations intended to expand Chrysler Group's commitment to the development of future Hispanic business leaders:

The Ram Truck brand donated a certificate (valued at $35,000) good towards the purchase of a new Ram truck. NSHMBA conducted a raffle for the certificate with proceeds directed to the organization's general fund and mission. The Chrysler Foundation awarded NSHMBA a $75,000 grant to fund scholarships for students with Hispanic heritage whom are pursuing a MBA or MBA-equivalent degree at accredited institutions.

"Driving change in our communities by supporting educational programs that inspire future leaders is a key focus of The Chrysler Foundation," said Jody Trapasso, Senior vice President, External Affairs – Chrysler Group LLC and President – The Chrysler Foundation. "We are proud to partner with NSHMBA to help expand educational opportunities in the Hispanic community."

Since 1986, The Chrysler Foundation has awarded nearly $850,000 in scholarships to Hispanic students.
