2014 Toyota Highlander makes Southeast debut, at Miami International Auto Show

MIAMI--Nov. 8, 2013: Toyota will showcase its 2014 lineup, including nine models assembled in the United States, Nov. 8-17 at the Miami International Auto Show.

Show attendees can enjoy an up-close look at the new 2014 Highlander, Tundra and Corolla, as well as an array of Toyota vehicles with deep American roots, including the Camry, Sienna, Sequoia, Venza, Avalon and Tacoma. In addition, many Toyota and Scion models will be available for test drives at the Toyota Ride & Drive Center and Scion Live Drive.

"The Miami International Auto Show is a great opportunity to showcase our ongoing efforts to produce the best products, many of which roll off assembly lines right here in America."

Show-goers also will explore Toyota's nine vehicles that represent Toyota's investment in 10 manufacturing plants across the country. The automaker's direct investment in the United States has been more than $19.5 billion.

The redesigned Tundra continues to be a truck with true American roots, with U.S.-led design and engineering teams in Michigan and California. From the Southeast, Tundra's V6 and V8 engines are assembled in Alabama, and transmissions produced in North Carolina. Finally, Tundra continues to be assembled exclusively at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, in San Antonio, Texas (TMMTX). Produced exclusively at Toyota Motor Manufacturing in San Antonio, Texas, the 2014 Tundra sources 75 percent of its content from North America. Toyota Motor Manufacturing Texas, Inc. just rolled off its 1 millionth pickup in October. Nearly 6,000 workers produce 200,000 trucks a year at the 2,000-acre site.

Produced in Indiana, the third-generation 2014 Toyota Highlander makes its Southeastern debut at the Miami show. The Highlander's all-new exterior design conveys both refinement and strength, complementing a new interior that raises the bar in the mid-size SUV segment. Seating up to eight passengers, the Highlander is highlighted by new standard or available safety or convenience features, including rear parking sonar, Blind Spot Monitor, Lane Departure Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Pre-collision System.
