LONGMONT, CO--November 14, 2013: UQM Technologies, Inc. congratulates singer and songwriter Neil Young for his Green Performance Keynote at the 2013 SEMA Show on the topic of “Repowering the American Dream.” Addressing a crowd of automotive enthusiasts, Young discussed the development and technology of his series hybrid LincVolt powered by the UQM PowerPhaseŽ motor and controller system.

The LincVolt is a 1959 Lincoln Continental that Young’s team converted into a series-hybrid vehicle. Recently driven across country from San Francisco to Washington, D.C., the LincVolt utilized the UQM PowerPhase motor and controller system as an integral part of the drive system, capable of moving the 2.5 ton cruiser at highway speed with ease and efficiency.

The LincVolt demonstrates how the UQM PowerPhase systems are used to support a diverse range of applications.
