New Nissan Versa is a small car with surprising interior space

AUBURN, WA--Nov. 25, 2013: Small cars have been popular in the industry for many years. It makes sense, as they can offer great efficiency for those that commute to work or just want to get better mileage everywhere they go. But one of the drawbacks to owning a small car is that is can't fit as much cargo or provide as much passenger space as a larger vehicle could. But one car company, Nissan, is hoping to change that with the new Versa.

The 2014 Nissan Versa is a small car by all accounts. And while it gets efficiency that is more than competitive in the segment (36 mpg highway on the sedan), it also has room that consumers can actually use. It starts with passenger space, as Nissan made sure that front and back seat passengers can enjoy their ride. There is 39.8 inches of space between the seat and the ceiling in the front, meaning head room is no issue on the Versa.

Cargo capacity is also impressive on the new Versa, as the trunk is proportioned to fit more than others in the segment. The vehicle also has maximum cargo capacity of 14.9 cubic feet, which slots it in among the best in its class.
