CYPRESS, CA--Dec. 18, 2013: Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA), a leader in highly-efficient, affordably-priced new gasoline-powered automobiles, unveiled its new responsive design website, Mitsubishi, which enriches the online car shopping experience by delivering full content and functionality across all devices.

To determine how today's connected consumers want to leverage digital channels in their car buying process, Mitsubishi Motors and digital marketing agency iCrossing conducted research and analyzed audience data, and developed a new website that caters to their changing needs. One critical finding: as mobile and tablet use continues to skyrocket, it is essential that consumers be able to access all of the website's features across multiple devices – desktop, tablet and smartphone.

"With so many different devices and sites becoming available as part of the digital experience when making a purchasing decision, it was important that we build a site that offers immersive, rich online and mobile environments that meets consumers' expectations across all channels," said Don Swearingen, EVP at Mitsubishi Motors North America.

To create a truly seamless shopping experience across desktop and mobile devices, the new site was built with iCrossing's responsive web design, which uses a combination of front-end and server-side technologies to customize the site's content, features and functionality and optimize the site's performance across all devices.

"By using responsive web design methodology, we were able to create a dynamic new site for Mitsubishi Motors that is not only functional across all platforms, but also looks beautiful and enhances the consumer experience by delivering content based on a user's device," said Brian Powley, global president of iCrossing.

Consumer research also found that car buyers are waiting longer to visit dealerships in-person, choosing instead to conduct more research online first. As a result, Mitsubishi Motors' new site delivers the robust online experience consumers are expecting with new features such as the Build & Price tool, which allows consumers to view their local dealers' inventory, and find the nearest dealer that carries the car that meets their desired specifications.

"This new website is a positive step forward for Mitsubishi Motors, and we are very proud that together with iCrossing we were able to develop an enhanced online experience for both our future potential customers as well as our valued existing ones," added Swearingen. The new site integrates a robust owners section with easy access to personal service records, maintenance schedules, owner manuals, and information and discounts for new parts and accessories. The events section of the site highlights the strong community that exists between Mitsubishi and its customers, placing a special focus on the popular "Owner's Days" events.
