FARMINGTON HILLS, MI--Dec. 20, 2013: Autoline announced today that Mark Reuss, president of General Motors North America, was chosen as the inaugural Autoline Automotive Executive of the Year. Reuss was chosen from several dozen global automotive executives and 5 eventual finalists including: Akio Toyoda, Toyota; Alan Mulally, Ford; Tom Doll, Subaru of America; and Martin Winterkorn, VW AG.

"The Autoline Executive of the Year was chosen by a blue ribbon panel of automotive experts," said John McElroy the Executive Editor of Autoline, "It was a unanimous choice and we decided on Mark Reuss even before he received his most recent promotion as executive vice president, Global Product Development, Purchasing and Supply Chain. We are deeply impressed by his product and industry knowledge, his leadership skills, and his business acumen. He was up against some pretty impressive competitors, but we feel Mark stood out above them all."

The Autoline Executive of the Year judging panel includes Wall Street analyst Maryann Keller from Keller & Associates; Edward Lapham, former Executive Editor of Automotive News; Neil De Koker, founder and former CEO of the Original Equipment Suppliers Association; Dr. David Cole, founder of the Center for Automotive Research, and the founder of AutoHarvest.org; and the renowned author and analyst, Karl Ludvigsen.

On an upcoming Autoline This Week television program, McElroy and three of his judges, Lapham, Cole and De Koker, discuss the criteria for the award as well as each of the specific finalists. The show is available for viewing on PBS stations across America, as well as on Autoline TV and partner sites of the Autoline network beginning at noon ET on Friday, December 27th.

To present the Autoline Automotive Executive of the Year award, McElroy and his Autoline judging team will be holding an official luncheon to acknowledge Mr. Reuss.
