LAS VEGAS==Jan. 6, 2014: Ford Motor Company subsidiary, Livio, today announced it will support SmartDeviceLink as the industry standard for in-vehicle infotainment and offer SDL code and support for suppliers, OEM partners and app developers in 2014, in their 2014 International CES press conference.

Livio app partners will also be able to be compatible with SDL technology through new software updates. The company has started supporting SDL immediately and plans to offer code for its suppliers and OEM partners in 2014.

"The time for a standard is now," Livio founder and CEO Jake Sigal said. "Livio is helping apps get safely into cars, increasing quality and reducing costs for app developers and automotive suppliers."

Livio will have demonstrations at the International CES in their booth with DENSO, KPIT Technologies, Humax Automotive, and Pioneer Electronics. Other hardware partners include Visteon and VOXX Electronics Corporation.

In 2013, Ford contributed the AppLink in-vehicle connectivity platform to the open-source SmartDeviceLink project so that all automakers, suppliers and developers could create compatible systems. Livio is helping to expand an industry-standard ecosystem with its powerful development tools. Over the coming months, Ford will work with their app partners to migrate them to the latest version of AppLink, which is compatible with the latest version of SmartDeviceLink. More information on SDL can be found at Smart Device Link.

Livio will showcase its SDL-compatible Livio Connect technology at Booth 3305 in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center from Jan. 7-10, 2014.
