Aricent's Connected Car Solution now Available on Texas Instruments' OMAP 5 Automotive Platform

REDWOOD CITY, California--January 7, 2014: Aricent, a premier engineering services and software company, today announced the availability of its Connected Car solution on Texas Instruments' OMAP™ 5 processor, at CES, Las Vegas.

TI's OMAP™ 5 is a highly optimized automotive-grade System-on-Chip (SoC), which provides compelling in-vehicle-infotainment (IVI) and telematics features. Aricent connected car solution is an integrated package, which offers several entertainment, safety and security, and convenience features. The comprehensive software package provides in-car network connectivity over DLNA/Wi-Fi, and connects a car network to home and cloud network over LTE. It can also be easily ported to TI's "Jacinto 6" infotainment processors.

The solution enables a user in a car to:

watch HD multimedia content directly from their home network or cloud network by adapting to network condition. make video calls and do multiparty conferencing. monitor and control home network remotely. use host of other services like media synchronization, media share, gesture control, advanced driver assistance solution, Mirrorlink, and Miracast that realizes full potential of the connectivity on the move over cloud, home and car network.

The software package is available as fully-customizable re-usable software components for both car head-unit and Rear Seat Entertainment Device (RSED) that provides flexibility to automotive ODMs/OEMs to target different market segments.
