Continental Receives 2013 Quality Awards from General Motors

AUBURN HILLS, MI--Jan. 10, 2014: General Motors recognized Continental Automotive for demonstrating some of the highest levels of quality performance over the past 12 months at 14 of its manufacturing facilities worldwide.

The 14 Continental locations that were recognized include:

Alor Setar, Malaysia Babenhausen, Germany Boussens, France Calamba, Philippines Fletcher/Henderson, North Carolina Hamakita, Japan Icheon, Korea Jeonju, Korea Mechelen, Belgium Port Elizabeth, South Africa Puchov, Slovakia San Luis Potosi, Mexico Silao, Mexico Vac, Hungary

"It is of great importance for us to serve as a reliable partner to our customers by providing high quality products on a timely basis. These awards reflect our commitment to excellence and, most importantly, the dedicated efforts of our employees around the world."

This is the second year GM is honoring suppliers who are making noteworthy contributions to GM's goal of providing the best overall customer experience in the automotive industry. Continental has received a total of 20 Worldwide Quality Awards from GM since 2012.

"Continental helped play a critical role in GM's success in 2013 through their dedication and commitment to consistently exceed our expectations by being innovative, delivering high quality products and services on time and by creating outstanding value," said Grace Lieblein, GM vice president, Global Purchasing and Supply Chain.

GM's Supplier Quality Excellence Award is focused on improving collaboration with suppliers. Winning suppliers met more than 12 quality criteria during the 12 months ending June 30.

Continental is among the leading automotive suppliers worldwide, combining comprehensive know-how and uncompromising quality in the areas of active and passive driving safety, telematics, communications solutions, drive systems and comfort technology. Continental supplies a wide-range of products to General Motors, including electronic and hydraulic brake systems, fuel supply units, driver instrumentation, sensorics, engine components and transmission units.
