Detroit, Mich., Jan. 16, 2014; To ensure a smooth parking process as guests head to Cobo Center for Friday evening's Charity Preview, the North American International Auto Show is providing the following information regarding street closures and parking options.

The Larned Street exit off of M-10 (John C. Lodge) will be closed beginning at 4:00 p.m. Jefferson Street at Woodward and Washington at Fort will also be closed beginning at 4:00 p.m. Those with prepaid parking will be allowed through the barricades at these two intersections. Please be prepared to show your prepaid parking ticket/placard.

The best parking options:

Parking is available throughout the city. A map of parking structures located adjacent to or near the People Mover can be found here.

Parking will be available on the roof of Cobo Center (accessed at the corner of 3rd and Congress St.) and in the Congress Street garage (accessed at the corner of 1st and Congress St.). Click here to see a map of all road closures and advised routes.

If these garages become full, Cobo staff will hand out maps with directions to the Joe Louis garage. A red carpet has been placed through the connector between the 4th level of the Joe Louis parking garage and Cobo Center. Signage and security staff have been placed along the way to direct people. In case of inclement weather, parkers will be directed to the People Mover. If guests take the connector to the staircase that exits onto the Congress Street parking area, golf carts will be available to shuttle them to the Cobo Center entrance.
