BRENTWOOD, Essex--January 29, 2014: – Eight awards from BusinessCar in the last seven years is the remarkable achievement notched up by the Ford S-MAX.

The latest in the model’s long line of honours was revealed at the BusinessCar Awards in London, where the Ford S-MAX’s stranglehold on the title of Best MPV was reconfirmed.

S-MAX was BusinessCar’s overall Car of the Year in 2008, and was additionally declared Best MPV – an honour it has won every year since.

Paul Barker, BusinessCar editor, said: “The Ford S-MAX is a favourite of BusinessCar and the fleet community. It is still a class leader: practicality, low running costs, style and enjoyable handling mean S-MAX is peerless – and our readers obviously agree.”

Highly rated in the fleet industry as the only awards decided by fleet managers themselves, the BusinessCar Awards are voted for by the readers of the fortnightly BusinessCar magazine and Business Car UK.

Phil Hollins, Ford of Britain fleet director, said: “We always knew that the Ford S-MAX was ahead of its time – that it continues as BusinessCar’s Best MPV year after year is proof positive, especially because this endorsement comes from the fleet industry itself.”

The Ford S-MAX offers not only great styling but also remarkable technology and versatility, which made the vehicle first choice for the 8,850 UK customers who bought one last year.

Its folding second- and third-row seats provide up to 32 possible seating and stowage configurations, providing a multitude of options for up to seven passengers. It’s available with 1.6 and 2.0-litre turbo-powered EcoBoost petrol engines and with a choice of three TDCi diesel power units, 1.6, 2.0 and 2.2. On-the-road prices start from £23,105.
