Feb. 5, 2014: Kia Motors is supporting BFBS Sport at the annual Inter-Services championships for the second year running BFBS Sport is kept mobile with a Kia Sportage KX-4 during live broadcasts in Meribel, France.

Kia Motors (UK) Limited is proud to announce their vehicle support with the British Forces Broadcasting Service (BFBS) for the second year running at the 2014 Inter Services Skiing and Snowboarding Championships in France.

Jon Knighton, who will be co-ordinating BFBS coverage of the Alpine Championship along with BFBS Sports Reporter Cath Brazier, is taking a Kia Sportage 2.0 CRDi KX-4 on their 12 hour journey to Meribel on February 1st. The Kia Sportage allows BFBS to transport their equipment around the five-day event where more than 200 members of the British Army, The Royal Navy and The Royal Air Force will be competing.

Jon said "For a second year we are grateful for the brilliant support Kia have given us. The Sportage is a highly capable 4X4 and without it we would find it very hard to take all our cameras, microphones and editing equipment to the French Alps.

“With Kia's help we can get our cameras to the places they need to be to record the best Skiing, Snowboard and Telemark action" added Knighton.

The Sportage is Kia’s bestselling model in the UK, claiming around a quarter of the company’s sales and its success is set to continue with the enhancements added for the 2014 model year. The Sportage line up is available with a choice of one petrol and two diesel engines. The range also comes in five trim levels and is available in both two-wheel and all-wheel drive; the Sportage is priced from £17,495 to £29,495.

2014 marks the 63rd Forces Alpine Championship and BFBS will be broadcasting all the results and updates to forces’ families and servicemen across the world through their channels. The Sportage allows the BFBS team access to all parts of the competition with their equipment in order to grab the best of the action.

Based in Buckinghamshire, BFBS has broadcast to the British Military for almost seventy years, giving servicemen and women around the world the news and sport as if they were at home. BFBS Radio is available on DAB Digital Radio in the UK, on FM across the Forces world, on Sky Guide 0211, Freesat Channel 786, BFBS and via the BFBS smartphone App.
