GM to be Honored by Broadcasters’ Education Foundation

WASHINGTON, DC--Feb. 20, 2014: The National Association of Broadcasters Education Foundation today announced that General Motors would receive its Corporate Leadership Award this summer.

The foundation will recognize GM, and the work of the General Motors Foundation, during the 16th annual Celebration of Service to America Awards, planned for Tuesday, June 17, at the National Building Museum. The NABEF each year gives its Corporate Leadership Award to a non-broadcast business that exemplifies an extraordinary focus on community service and corporate social responsibility.

General Motors Co. and its partners produce vehicles in 30 countries, and the company has leadership positions in the world's largest and fastest-growing automotive markets. GM, its subsidiaries and joint venture entities sell vehicles under the Chevrolet, Cadillac, Baojun, Buick, GMC, Holden, Jiefang, Opel, Vauxhall and Wuling brands. About General Motors Foundation Since its inception in 1976, the GM Foundation has donated hundreds of millions of dollars to American charities, educational organizations and to disaster relief efforts worldwide. Funding of the GM Foundation comes solely from GM. The last contribution to the GM Foundation was made in 2001.
