GENEVA--March 5, 2014: Ermini Automobili, an Italian producer of luxury hand-built cars, has chosen Alcantara to upholster the interiors of its new Seiottosei.

The Ermini Seiottosei made its world premiere at this year's Geneva Motor Show and is styled after the legendary Italian Barchetta-type sports cars of the 1950s. Only a limited number of the new Seiottosei will be manufactured.

The Florentine brand turned to Alcantara and its art director, Giulio Cappellini, to produce a unique, prestigious feel and appearance for the car's interior. A special three-dimensional technique distinguishes the Alcantara seat centers with a tailor-designed horizontal-stripe motif.

"For its new Seiottosei, Ermini chose to upholster its interiors in Alcantara," said Giulio Cappellini. "Seiottosei is a super-sports car that's also elegant and beautifully designed. Alcantara naturally proved to be the ideal interior-upholstery material. Its versatility and inherent durability allow us to combine a classic look with state-of-the-art technology."

Cappelini noted that Alcantara provides car makers with a unique combination of technical and functional performance features such as durability, light weight, grip and breathability.

The Seiottosei is offered in traditional Ermini Red with a chestnut interior. Other color schemes also will be available to further customize the exclusive Seiottosei offering. The Ermini Seitottosei will be on display at the Geneva Motor Show, March 6-16 in Hall 2 -- Stand 2042.
