AUBURN HILLS, MI--March 7, 2014: Chrysler Group LLC today awarded eight talented young artists for their winning sketches in this year's "Autorama High School Design Competition" at an award presentation during the Meguiar's 62nd Detroit Autorama hot rod show.

Michigan public high school students were asked to explore their creative side and design a vehicle that satisfies the needs of young consumers while remaining eco-friendly. Students were able to pull inspiration from any of the current Chrysler Group brands: Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep®, Ram Truck, FIAT or SRT (Street and Racing Technology).

"This is our second year hosting this competition to show young people with an artistic side that a design career in the automotive industry is possible," said Mark Trostle - Head of SRT, Mopar and Motorsports Design, Chrysler Group LLC. "Joining forces with the College for Creative Studies, United Way for Southeastern Michigan and Meguiar's Detroit Autorama gave us the necessary tools and exposure to connect with young creative minds and potentially the next great car designer."

The eight winners were awarded with prizes, including passes to the Meguiar's 62nd Detroit Autorama, a three-week summer automotive design course at the College for Creative Studies (CCS), iPads and a $2,500 CCS scholarship to the top senior class winner.

"I've always wanted to have a job where I can draw my ideas, and as time goes on I think more and more about designing cars," said Alex Fischer of Stoney Creek High School and this year's first place senior class winner. "The competition benefitted me a lot by giving me confidence and showing me that I can succeed in a career like this, and I like the fact that Chrysler takes younger kids' ideas seriously."
