Fleet of stylish Hyundai ix35 vehicles to be provided for red carpet duties Celebrities to step from spacious New Hyundai ix35 Awards to be televised on Channel 5 on Mother’s Day

High Wycombe, March 13, 2014 - Winners and celebrities of the Tesco Mum of the Year awards 2014 will soon be stepping out in style thanks to Hyundai. The automotive brand will support the ninth annual event for the second year running with a fleet of ix35 vehicles.

London’s exclusive hotel, The Savoy, will be the venue for Tesco Mum of the Year awards 2014. The ceremony will be held on Sunday 23rd March and televised on Channel 5 on Mother’s Day, Sunday 30th March.

The glamorous red carpet ceremony - which attracts a host of celebrity guests - will celebrate inspirational mums who have made a difference to the lives of others. Winning mums, who will be coming from all over the UK, will be treated to a full makeover and their own Tesco Living magazine photo shoot. They will then be presented with their award in front of friends, family and celebrity guests.

Hyundai’s ix35 compact SUV has already won many fans thanks to its combination of style, comfort and practicality. It is a vehicle that is as equally at home in the city as it is out of it – making it the ideal partner for family life. The ix35s will ensure that winning mums travel in style and comfort to the awards and will also be on hand to chauffeur official Tesco Mum of the Year Ambassador, Coleen Rooney, to the exclusive event.

Award categories and winners are as follows: Supportive Mum of the Year won by Diana Golding, Enterprising Mum of The Year won by Ranu Mehta-Radia, Charitable Mum of the Year won by Laura Young, Campaigning Mum of the Year won by Jane Plumb, Community Mum of the Year won by Lynn McManus, Achieving Mum of the Year won by Maggie Hughes, Celebrity Mum of the Year won by Dame Sarah Storey and Tesco Colleague Lifetime Achievement Award won by Pam Clarke.

Tony Whitehorn, President and CEO of Hyundai UK, said: “The inspirational women who have received these accolades really do make huge differences to the lives of others. It is a real honour to be able to support this celebration. We hope that our New ix35s play a small part in making the weekend truly special and memorable for all of the winners.”

Debbie Chernin, Tesco Mum of the Year manager, said: “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Hyundai again. Our mums deserve to be spoilt and we want the very best for them. By working with Hyundai, we know the winners, and the rest of our guests, are in safe hands.”

To give more people the opportunity to talk about and celebrate their mums, Hyundai UK will launch a social media competition via the @Hyundai_UK twitter handle on 17th March 2014. Entrants will have a chance to win a special treat for their mum, which will involve being chauffeured to The Savoy Hotel in a Hyundai ix35 for a three-course lunch on Mother’s Day.
