Volkswagen Group UK has been awarded Top Employer status

Milton Keynes--March 14, 2014: Volkswagen Group UK has been awarded Top Employer status by the Top Employers Institute for its commitment to developing talent and offering a first-class working environment with high quality training and development opportunities across its five brands – Volkswagen Passenger Cars and Commercial Vehicles, Audi, ŠKODA, SEAT.

The Top Employers certification is awarded to the best employers around the world: those organisations that demonstrate the highest standards of employee offerings and are then independently certified by the Top Employers Institute. To gain certification an organisation must demonstrate a forward-thinking Human Resources environment that is continuously working to optimise its employee conditions and leading the way in the development of its people.

In recognising the Volkswagen Group’s Top Employers United Kingdom 2014 certification, Top Employers said: ‘Our comprehensive independent research revealed that Volkswagen Group UK Ltd provides exceptional employee conditions, nurtures and develops talent throughout all levels of the organisation and has demonstrated its leadership status in the HR environment, always striving to optimise its employment practices and to develop its employees.’

The Volkswagen Group’s extensive employee development programme, which is available to more than 800 employees at its Milton Keynes-based headquarters, was particularly praised. The programme includes graduate schemes and traineeships, as well as leadership development and international exchange opportunities. The Group’s National Learning Centre was also lauded for its commitment to developing staff across the Group’s network of more than 1,000 dealerships.

Staff benefits, internal communication channels and flexible working conditions were all singled out as being of an exceptionally high standard and the Group’s Human Resources department was recognised for demonstrating strong leadership and engendering a culture of continuous development.
