February engine output idling ahead of new vehicle acceleration

March 20, 2014: February engine manufacturing was 2.4% behind 2013 levels at 220,466 units as plants wait for full-scale vehicle output. Output for export rises 3.9% in the month growing the export share to 64% of production. UK engine manufacturing set for major growth with new JLR Wolverhampton plant to open in 2015 and Bentley’s Crewe facility to become VW Group W12 centre of excellence.
