March 28, 2014: All-new Mazda3, Mazda6 and Mazda CX-5 available for driving Key Mazda models to account for more than 80% of fleet sales in 2014 Mazda models cut costs for fleet operators and company car drivers

Mazda will be showcasing its multi award-winning SKYACTIV technology powering the all-new Mazda3, the fleet favourite Mazda6 and the popular Mazda CX-5 at next month’s Fleet Show.

To be held at the world famous Silverstone complex in Northamptonshire on Wednesday, 9 April, hundreds of fleet decision-makers will have the opportunity to put Mazda’s latest SKYACTIV equipped cars through their paces.

Fleet decision-makers will be able to take to both the Grand Prix and Stowe racing circuits as well as local public roads in a cross-section of models from the all-new Mazda3, Mazda6 and Mazda CX‑5 ranges with two models also displayed in the exhibition area in the Silverstone Wing.

Additionally, in the exhibition area fleet chiefs will be able to discuss their Mazda fleet requirements with the marque’s corporate sales team.

Mazda has seen fleet sales accelerate more than 80 percent as its 2013/14 financial year draws to a close against a total fleet market up less than 10 percent during that period, according to Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders’ (SMMT) data.

Sales are expected to soar even further in 2014 based on the financial, environmental, styling and performance attributes of the established Mazda6 and Mazda CX-5 now complemented by the recently launched all-new Mazda3.

All three models feature Mazda’s breakthrough emission-cutting, fuel-saving SKYACTIV technology, which delivers fuel bill savings to businesses and tax savings to employers and company car drivers.

Tomlinson said: “The introduction of SKYACTIV technology has delivered a fleet renaissance for Mazda. Fleet operators and company car drivers alike are looking to save money and SKYACTIV technology in the all-new Mazda3, Mazda6 and CX-5 enables them to do just that.

“Our fleet focus over the next 12 months remains on raising awareness of the three models in the corporate sector and enabling decision-makers to experience the benefits of SKYACTIV technology.

“At the Show visitors will be able to drive the models back-to-back with rival vehicles and we believe the financial benefits allied to the style and specification of the all-new Mazda3, Mazda6 and Mazda CX-5 mean they will find their way into company car parks in significant numbers.

“Fleet decision-makers attending this year’s Fleet Show have the ideal opportunity to test the models in real world conditions and discuss the whole life cost benefits with the Mazda corporate sales team.”

Diesel demand for the Mazda3 is expected to be particularly strong and Show visitors will be able to get behind the wheel of the 2.2-litre 150ps SKYACTIV-D derivative, which is Euro6 emission compliant and returns an exceptional 72.4mpg and has emissions from just 104g/km*.

The 36-strong all-new third-generation Mazda3 line-up of 21 hatchback and 15 Fastback models start at £16,695 on-the-road with a choice of SE, SE Nav, SE-L, SE-L Nav and Sport Nav specifications.

Also available to put through its paces will be a selection of Mazda6 models powered by the same 2.2-litre 150ps SKYACTIV-D engine as well as the 175ps option. The 2.2-litre 150ps SKYACTIV-D is the key fleet model in the Mazda6 range and the Saloon returns an incredible 72.4 mpg with CO2 emissions of only 104g/km delivering unmatched performance and economy from the available power. The 175ps model is equally potent and returns 62.8mpg and CO2 emissions of 119g/km.

On-the-road prices start at £19,595 for the Mazda6 range with a choice of SE, SE-L and Sport trim levels and all are available with optional navigation.

Meanwhile, the Mazda CX-5 will also be available to drive powered by the same 2.2-litre 150ps SKYACTIV-D engine mated to 2WD returning 61.4mpg and emissions of 119g/km. On-the-road prices start at £21,595 for the Mazda CX-5 range with a choice of SE-L, SE-L Lux and Sport trim levels all available with navigation.

The Fleet Show, hosted by monthly publication Fleet World, is being held for the third year in succession. Further information is available at www.thefleetshow.co.uk or to register to attend go to www.thefleetshow.co.uk/visiting.
