April 1, 2014: Kangoo Van Z.E. has added another major accolade to its ever-growing trophy cabinet, after collecting the ‘Eco Van of the Year’ trophy at the VansA2Z Awards.

Its latest award, picked up at The Oval in London, came after the Kangoo Van Z.E. over-powered stiff competition from several rivals, including the Mercedes-Benz Vito E-CELL and Citroen Berlingo Electrique.

Renault’s groundbreaking Kangoo Van Z.E., the world’s first electric LCV produced by a vehicle manufacturer, comes in a wide variety of options, with standard and long-wheelbase, two- or five-seater, panel or crew van. It is also eligible for the Government’s Plug-in Van Grant, with a basic price, including the grant, starting from a headline-grabbing £12,995 excluding VAT and battery rental.

Commenting on its latest success, Renault UK’s Ben Fletcher, Product Manager, Electric Vehicle Programme, said, “Awareness of the benefits associated with electric vans, from a cost, driver and environmental perspective, is growing on a daily basis, boosted recently by the new Government-supported ‘Go Ultra Low’ campaign. I’m sure this latest independent endorsement will generate even more buzz around Kangoo Van Z.E. and help to highlight it as the clear market leader.”

Editor Neil McIntee added, “Renault’s battery-powered Kangoo Van Z.E. is the only vehicle of its type that is a viable proposition for ordinary businesses eager to cut their carbon footprint, and that is as good a reason as any for VansA2Z to award it our Eco Van of the Year accolade for 2014.”
