April 4, 2014: CCIA will host record-breaking new Leon Cupra 280 and new Leon ST Leon ST will be there with 99 g/km diesel engine Mii city car, Ibiza supermini and Alhambra MPV available to drive, too SEAT Leon has just taken the Fleet News Best Lower-Medium Car award SEAT overall sales up 34.1% year-to-date, while true fleet sales were up 66% March 2014, compared to March 2013

SEAT will put the ‘action’ into this year’s CCIA by bringing the staggering new Leon Cupra 280 along for visitors to try. It will sit alongside the new Leon ST estate, and the highly economical 99 g/km Leon SE 1.6 TDI.

The Leon Cupra 280 is the most powerful production SEAT ever made, and the car that recently broke a world record for a lap time around the famous Nürburgring Nordschleife – becoming the first front-wheel drive production car to lap the ‘Ring in under eight minutes.

The Cupra is the pinnacle of the award-winning new Leon range, which during the course of 2013 expanded to add three-door SC and ST estate versions to the five-door hatchback – meaning there’s something for everyone.

Aside from the Leon, SEAT will demonstrate the strength in depth of its range by taking the Mii city car, the Ibiza supermini and the Alhambra MPV for CCIA visitors to try. All three of those models share the same focus on striking styling, intelligent packaging and technology to enjoy, but do so in their own unique way.

SEAT has a range of cars that perfectly suits the fleet buyer, with fuel-efficiency standard on every model – even the Leon Cupra 280 DSG is rated at 44.1 mpg on the combined cycle, despite hitting 62 mph from rest in just 5.7 seconds. And while that’s the quickest production car SEAT has ever made, the most economical also comes in the shape of a Leon, too – the 85.6 mpg (combined), 87 g/km Leon Ecomotive, available in all three body styles.

Fleet News award-winner

In fact, so broad and comprehensive is the appeal of the SEAT Leon to fleet buyers, that CCIA organiser Fleet News awarded it the Best Lower-Medium Car prize at its 2014 awards in March. Ratifying its victory, Fleet News Editor-in-Chief Stephen Briers called it “one of the great all-rounders in the sector with desirable looks, strong residual values and very low running costs.”

With the Leon model family now in full swing, it’s perhaps no surprise that SEAT’s true fleet sales were 66% higher in March 2014 than they were in March the previous year.

SEAT prides itself on offering ‘Technology to Enjoy’ in every one of its cars, and to that end the Leon comes with drive-enhancing equipment including the SEAT Easy Connect touchscreen multimedia system, and optional full-LED headlights that offer the clearest view of the road ahead; the Leon was, in fact, the first family hatchback ever to offer this illuminating technology.

Company Car In Action takes place 10-11 June 2014 at Millbrook Proving Ground. Visitors are warmly invited to explore the SEAT stand to meet our dedicated fleet team and take a test drive.

Company Car in Action is organised by fleet industry magazine Fleet News. Fleet operators can register to take part at Company Car in Action.
